Hillel During 2020: Dealing with COVID-19 and Flood Damage (Rough draft)

 



A quiet, but beautiful Hillel on a sunny day on Nov. 30.

After a devastating flood that happened in September, Hillel is in the process of reconstructing their damaged floors, as seen here on Nov. 30. 

Kitchen staff are required to wear plastic gloves and faces masks when cooking and preparing the food for the students, as seen here on Dec. 3.

Hillel left out an important message in the entryway on Dec. 4 reminding students to stick to COVID-19 guidelines. 


Adina Fleisher, a student at UMD and volunteer at Hillel, keeping track of who comes in and out of the dining room, checking on the kitchen and making sure that the food is clean on Nov. 30.

Fleisher is a mashgicha, a Jewish woman who supervises the status of a kosher establishment, turning on a device that helps to check the food for bugs on Nov. 30.
